Project Overview: Engineered Retaining Wall

The Challenge

This Anderson Township property had a steep grade change that went well beyond what a standard residential wall could safely hold back. At this height, the loads involved meant this wasn't a project where you could skip the engineering and hope the wall held — it needed a design that accounted for soil pressure, water, and the sheer weight of the slope behind it.

Solution

The Solution

We built a fully engineered retaining wall with geogrid reinforcement layered through the backfill to anchor the wall into the hillside itself, not just stack block and hope gravity does the rest. Full drainage went in behind the wall to manage hydrostatic pressure on a slope this size, and the wall was engineered to the height and load this grade change actually demanded.

Execution & Finishing

The Result

A tall, structurally engineered wall holding back a grade change that would have been a serious liability left unaddressed — built to a standard that accounts for the forces a wall this size actually has to withstand, not just how it looks on install day.
